Africa is at a crossroad: its tremendous economic potential is attracting investors from all around the world, yet many of its young people which is perhaps Africa's biggest resource, with 60% of the population under the age of 36 - still dream of life outside of our continent as their only chance at a decent future, and a large number of them live in quiet desperation unable to find a place in their rapidly developing countries.
Although there are complex systemic issues that stifle the hopes and dreams of African people, we cannot solve them if we don't start by seeing and seizing the existing potential and taking ownership of our continent's future. And we cannot truly own our continent's future if our children are not adequately equipped with the right mindset, strong sense of identity and the capacity to thrive in this coming continental boom.
