Our Story

About Us

Championing African parents as the architects of the continent's destiny. Empowering you to raise the next generation of change-makers.

Africa is at a crossroad: its tremendous economic potential is attracting investors from all around the world, yet many of its young people which is perhaps Africa's biggest resource, with 60% of the population under the age of 36 - still dream of life outside of our continent as their only chance at a decent future, and a large number of them live in quiet desperation unable to find a place in their rapidly developing countries.

Although there are complex systemic issues that stifle the hopes and dreams of African people, we cannot solve them if we don't start by seeing and seizing the existing potential and taking ownership of our continent's future. And we cannot truly own our continent's future if our children are not adequately equipped with the right mindset, strong sense of identity and the capacity to thrive in this coming continental boom.

The role of African parents is more important now than ever before.

In this era where the identity battle is fought on the telephone screens, where short videos are telling your child how to think, what to aspire to and how to see herself, long before she has learned to critically think for herself, you, the parent, are the last sounding board, the last trusted source of values and worthy inspiration.

This community is dedicated to helping you in that noble and important endeavor.

Why Msingi Parenting?

"Msingi" is a Swahili word meaning "foundation." And for us, that word holds two powerful truths.

1

First, how we raise our children is the foundation of their future. When we come together—sharing tools, wisdom, and support—we give them a solid base upon which they can build a purposeful and thriving life.

2

Second, Africa is a continent of immense richness—in history, culture, and human potential. Yet, its development journey is still unfolding. We believe that our children, when nurtured from the very beginning, will be the ones to lead that transformation.

At Msingi Parenting, we believe that every African child deserves to grow up deeply rooted in their heritage, while being fully equipped with the values and skills to thrive anywhere in the world. This community is here to support you, the parent, in that powerful and noble journey.
